Labaton Keller Sucharow Elects Eric J. Belfi as Chairman

Labaton Keller Sucharow LLP is pleased to announce the election of Eric J. Belfi as the Firm’s new Chairman, effective June 1, 2025. He succeeds the late Christopher J. Keller, who served with dedication until his passing earlier this year.

“Eric’s election as Chairman marks a pivotal chapter for our Firm,” said Managing Partner Jonathan Gardner. “He has long been a trusted voice at the table—someone who leads with integrity, strategic vision, and an unwavering commitment to excellence.”

An accomplished litigator and former prosecutor, Eric represents many of the world’s largest institutional investors in complex securities and shareholder rights litigation in the United States and abroad. His leadership has contributed to landmark recoveries in high-profile cases involving Dell, Walmart, General Motors, and WWE, among others.

“I am honored by the confidence my partners have placed in me,” said Belfi. “I’m excited to lead the Firm into its next chapter—advancing our client-first mission, building on our success, and expanding our global reach.”

Eric joined Labaton Keller Sucharow as a partner in 2006 and has served on the Firm’s Executive Committee since 2013. In addition to his litigation work, he chairs the Firm’s Client Development Group and plays a key role in the Case Evaluation Group, where he helps identify and develop cases with significant impact.

“Eric is not only an outstanding lawyer, but also a natural leader who brings people together,” noted Senior Partner Carol C. Villegas.

“His deep understanding of our clients’ needs and our Firm’s values make him the ideal leader to guide us forward,” stated Senior Partner Michael P. Canty.
